on march 31, 2018, the “symposium on clinical application of proton pump inhibitors", hosted by the editorial board of the chinese journal of digestion and organized by nanjing chang ao pharmaceutical co., limited was held in interlagan hotel, oct east, shenzhen. more than a dozen well-known gastroenterologists from china attended the meeting.

the symposium was chaired by prof. yuan yaozong of shanghai ruijin hospital, editor-in-chief of the chinese journal of gastroenterology and member of the chinese society of gastroenterology. prof. chen qikui, director of the department of gastroenterology, sun yat-sen memorial hospital, sun yat-sen university, and member of the standing committee of the chinese medical association’s gastroenterology branch and the chairman of the guangdong medical association's gastroenterology branch, gave a presentation on “a meta-analysis of guidelines on upper gastrointestinal bleeding”. prof. han ying, vice president of the first affiliated hospital of the air force military medical university and vice chairman of the chinese society of hepatology, gave a keynote speech on “high-dose application of proton pump inhibitors - a discussion of the evidence-based medical basis”.
